Hi, recently started using Reflect, moving away from TrueImage. I'm pretty happy with it so far, except for the outlandish price (yea, I know, free version fine for most but I like to password protect my images).
I notice there's an option to put the recovery on the boot menu, reminiscent of Norton Ghost. Anyone using this option who can speak for its stability in Windows 10?

I actually did the same as far as moving away from TrueImage to Reflect, but I am using the free version.
I'm curious to see the responses, as I was wondering the same. I'm also wondering about the purpose of doing that vs. creating a bootable Flash / CD. Is it just a matter of convenience, or does it offer something else that I'm missing?
Also, I'm wondering if there's any risk of configuring Reflect so that it's added to the boot menu? Since it really does not load before Windows per se, I'm assuming the risks are minimal, but that is a concern of mine as well.

I've been using the boot option since they put it in the free version(version 6)
Since I have an SSD recovery is MUCH faster than with a thumb drive.
I have my boot options set up like this so I don't see it every boot
That way I can get to it through UEFI.

Just convenience. Makes life easier if you do a lot of tweaking and, therefor, restoring.
The MRF boot optionn works really well.
I just set the boot choice time to two seconds from system menus, rather than disabling boot entry.
If you reinstall windows 10, you have to reinstate the boot menu, but that only takes a few seconds.
Note: the hoot option is quite clever, as it executes a win pe environment stored in hidden folders on C drive. I was confused at first as I did not see any new partitions being created.
Quite exactly how it works though is a bit of a mystery to me though.
Note: by nature of the way it works, if your c drive gets badly corrupted (or hard disk fails), then you still need a traditional Macrium Rescue usb stick, or dvd as a fallback plan.
Do you have to do anything to keep the Reflect boot option up to date for new versions of Reflect?
There is no need to keep updating the boot option. I have had it setup across many Macrium updates.
(I always recreate the rescue media after each update even though not aleays necessary just to be sure).
The only time you need to redo the menu oddly enough is when you use the Macrium option to 'fix windows boot options' as that rebuilds boot sectors and deletes the Macrium boot option.
