Generic NTFS permissions on external HDD & file generic file owner

Hi. What are good generic file permissions for exteranal USB HDD with NTFS (videos, photos, portable apps etc.)
I'd like to user it on Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows XP, and Ubuntu (3 different PCs)
Must be usable as standard user (without admin), but for different user names.
I ask because I see I have strange unknown file owners (from previous installs)
And I get access denied messages on Ubuntu when writing to some dirs (must run file manger as root to do it)

I found this solution to run from Win10:

    TAKEOWN /F E:\ /R /D Y
    ICACLS "E:" /reset /T
    ( or ICACLS "E:\*" /reset /T )

but not sure is it ok (it change owner to current user)
Should I change owner to something like "users" or "administrators"?
(but will this not expose files more to malware?)

Problematic access permissions to certain directories are different from file attributes

Try to run the xcopy-command with the t-switch. It copies just the dir without any file
xcopy /? gives you more details
attrib /? explains how to add/remove attributes
