Can you extract Macrium Backups like with 7Zip etc?

Apparently not but is there really no way to extract the contents of an MRBAK file like you normally would with 7ZIP or PowerISO?
The fact I have to mount the file as a virtual drive is rather troublesome. I'd like to somehow automate this process. But definitely extract as if it was a ZIP or RAR file

You can extract individual files and folders from the backup image (provided you are not using the free edition) and place them anywhere you want, if that's your goal:

    RoboRestore.zip

I think the make bootable box only does mbr, but you might be able to use it to just extract the contents of a .mrimg to any partition root. Not for .mrbak unfortunately.

Scroll down this page or find
How to use RoboRestore to restore a disk image
    Macrium KB >> Knowledgebase

That does not describe it as doing what you want.

Reflect Free can extract files and folders from an .mrbak file. What Free cannot do is create a File and Folder backup.

You can mount a Reflect image as a virtual drive in Reflect Free too and extract any file / folder you choose.

That is what the poster describes as 'troublesome...'.

Whilst you need Macrium Reflect, you can script actions to run from batch files.

MRelfects backups are literally in a format that is able to run in viboot which literally sets them up as a Hyper-V. You can run those same backups in viboot and Hyper-V. Simular to Memu android. You could load the OS and then convert from there within that VMachine.

    YOU CAN CONVERT via

    StarWind V2V Converter

    or

MR6 had ( has ) the tool built in ( usually as an optional component ). This component was taken out ( or disabled ) probably for property concerns. However the space for this component is still inside of 7 and up. However later versions have removed it entirely.

MR also has a stand alone converter. But this is limited by the version of the format. MR often pushes you not to use their converter and to use another one like "Starwind". . It is vert hard to find this converter nowadays as it is considered outdated ( even if it will work ), It is also limited by a specific size of format. Meaning if you have something that is 2TB you can forget about iusing it.

You can convert it to another format and then convert that to another format like .ISO
