OOPS Clicked OneDrive Backup and Don't Want it.

OOPS - Clicked OneDrive Backup while I was doing something else.
    Running Windows 10 Version 22H2
I am not using OneDrive for backup.
The icon in the Taskbar says:
    Uploading 36.7 MB of 41.6 GB at 0.0 KB/sec. 20,470 files remaining

I do not want to use OneDrive. How do I cancel it and put back any files it has removed from my Hard Drive?
    Thanks cb

    Hello mate,

No worries. Luckily, it's easy to turn off backing up folders to OneDrive, and moving the content back from OneDrive. The tutorial below can help show you how to.

Once you're happy all your files are back as they were and you've disabled Onedrive, if you don't want it, you might consider eradicating it - a good number of members here do, it seems.

I am completely overwhelmed by information about OneDrive.
I am running Windows 10 and some of the screens shown in your tutorial link
    are not the same.
    Here is where I am:
It turns out that I was already running OneDrive backup. I can see my files from my Desktop PC in the cloud as well as files from other devices.
The Systray OneDrive icon has the grey cloud with a little white circle and blue arrows pointing around inside it.
If I click it, it says:

    Uploading 37.6 MB of 41.6 GB at 0.0 KB/s, 20,470 files remaining

I don't know what it is doing or not doing.
I would like all my files to be on my computer so that I don't have to be online to access them.
    Thanks, cb

    Thank you for your reply.

First - do one thing. Pause OneDrive synching. I.e. stop it uploading stuff.

How to Pause and Resume Sync in OneDrive in Windows 10

    Can you do that?

If so, can you see that it has stopped uploading?

As per the tutorial also make sure it is not set to start automatically again when you next log in.

Onedrive might be synching files across your devices at present. It sounds as if you may have Onedrive running on other devices too.

As you said, I have paused OneDrive and set it not to startup when I log in.

I would like it to restore my files to my Desktop PC so i can access them when I am offline.
Then I want it to resume syncing.
    Thanks, cb

I would suggest you very carefully peruse the numerous tutorials on Onedrive.

(Hint: Click Tutorials at the top, type 'onedrive' in the search box, and search).

I'm not an expert on Onedrive, and like a good number of members here uninstalled it long ago. As others have commented, too quirky, complex, and invasive.

Noting how you want to keep files on your PC, I will offer you this tutorial:
Mark OneDrive Files as Always keep on this device in Windows 10

Note the green ticks - you need to mark files you want to keep on your PC.

You do have access to your on line Ondrive account too via your browser of course.
As to how you get the files back from the cloud that you want.. I've never tried, so I'll leave that to the tutorials and anyone else who my respond.

    Good luck!
