Google searched: MBR clone inaccessible boot device:

See this link about Macrium boot rescue Legacy/MBR vs UEFI/GPT.

    MBR-MBR clone (new pc) "Inaccessible_boot_device"
    Thanks.

I just quickly looked through the first page [ I will read all the thread tomorrow ], and it mentioned Drivers, which would make sense.

I am going to look to see if there is anything in Macrium Reflect that will allow me to do this somehow, like searching for Drivers !

    UPDATE:

I might give up on this and buy a new Laptop as I previously mentioned.

    Anyway, I started from scratch.

    > I ran diskpart > clean.
    > I initialised the disk and created a Simple Volume.
    > I ran chkdsk [ OK - See below ].
    > I ran the Macrium Reflect Cloning process.
    > I got the SAME error as previously.

Here are screenshots prior to me running the Cloning process [ Last Screenshot ]:

What am I doing wrong ???

On investigation [ Internet / YouTube ], as I am out most of today, I think tomorrow I will try AOMEI Backupper Standard. I have also seen videos that AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard can also perform this task !

I went with Macrium Reflect after MANY years because it seemed to be the most popular on the forum and I thought that there would be a lot of help or advice on it !

It has also been recommended to me by an experienced and valued member on this forum to try Clonezilla. More research by me needed tomorrow.

I don't think the aomei free editions do system clone or os migration.

    diskgenius free does.

Thanks, I will investigate that one as well.

YouTube does actually show the FREE version performing the task. I will re-check that though.

Yes, it appears that it can Clone disks, but NOT the System Drive. Thanks for the thumbs up.

I seem to remember quite a while ago now a member posting screenshots for Cloning [ NOT Migration ] and making the Clone Bootable using DiskGenius.

I NEED to leave the Source Disk intact in case I need to use it in the future.

Was it you, and if so, have you got a link to the thread please ?

I couldn't find it using the Advanced Search.

    Thanks.

HELP! New to Windows - New 1TB SSD - need to swap 256mb C drive SSD

os migration is the same thing. By default it automatically selects the partitions needed by the os - and you can add any extra partitions to be migrated if desired. Both the original disk and the target disk will be bootable.

    Thank you, it is appreciated.

Do you recommend the full download or the Portable version please ?

I will perform this in a few hours.
