When trying to build a windows boot menu, using the base WIM windows PE 10 (WADK), I get "creating the rescue media will require a 773.2 MB download from M$. I click 'download' & 'building WIM' show, but it immediately goes back to the 'microsoft windows PE components download' window.
What am I missing?

No, Reflect downloads it itself.
If you choose Windows RE as the base WIM you can build rescue media without the need for any downloads. Click the Advanced button in the Rescue Media Builder to change the Base WIM.
Having said that, attempting to use Windows PE 10 (WADK) does start the download for me.
MS pull downloads of the previous builds of wadk or whatever they call it now. So it needs to link to wherever the current wadk files are. Maybe it does and you are having some other interference.
It will probably end up linking to the wrong place some time after they have stopped updating the free version.
You could use winre.wim or a custom wim file instead.

Windows RE isn't shown as an option, I get PE 11 instead.
Is Rescue Media Builder available for the free version 8.0.7279.0 ?
Is there a place I can d/l the proper 'WIM' file?
Attempting to find a WIM or zip on my cptr, I get 'not a valid windows pe zip file' ....

All my sceenshots above are the Free version of Reflect, v8.0.7279.
The Windows Recovery Environment WinRE.wim is part of every install of Windows 10.
The only reason RE will not be offered as an option in the rescue media builder is if Reflect cannot find your WinRE.wim anywhere on your system. It looks like you have deleted your Recovery partition, that is where WinRE.wim would have beeen kept if the recovery environment was enabled (which it would be by default). If your WinRE.wim has been deleted then you can extract a new copy from the Windows 10 install media.

Files for the Windows Recovery rescue environment are pre-existing and located on the local file system.
The folowinng folders, and sub-folders are searched for file WinRE.wim
C:\Windows\System32\Recovery <ALL VOLUMES>\Recovery
If multiple copies of WinRE.wim are found then each WIM is examined and the WIM that contains the most recent Windows OS is copied to the Staging Area.
If you have upgraded from 32-bit Win7 then you would have 32-bit win10 now. If so and you have the 32-bit Win10 install usb or ISO then you can extract WinRE.wim from it as I explain here. Place it in C:\Windows\System32\Recovery\ where the rescue media builder will be able to find it. If you have since installed 64-bit Win10 then you would need the 64-bit version of WinRE.wim from the 64-bit install media.
