Macrium Reflect Free v8.0 is the last version to receive feature, compatibility or bug fix updates.

Will future security vulnerabilities be fixed?
Yes, security patches will still be provided until 1st January 2024. After that date we will no longer provide any changes to the v8 Free code base.
Can I continue to use Macrium Reflect Free?
Yes, you can continue to use the software in perpetuity, your license to use the software is unaffected.
Will Macrium Reflect Free have any new features or updates for future Windows versions?
Macrium Reflect Free v8.0 supports Windows XP SP 3.0 up to, and including, Windows 10 & 11 version 22H2. There will be no new features or support for later Windows operating system updates.

They removed the links from their website, but not the download from their servers. You can still get Reflect Free direct from Macrium.

Thank you for this answer. This link probably not last forever and it is only "downloader" for Macrium Free, which can be deleted form they servers in the future. I have no problem buy this product, but if i buy it, I want it forever with all future updates and new versions. Is it possible?

If not, is here any FREE alternative?

You wouldn't be charged for an update until they move to version 9 (I hear that could be near future but that could be whispering down the alley). They usually offer old version licensees a good discount to upgrade to a new version. No charge for any 8.nnn updates.

There are plenty of free alternatives but they will be of varying quality and functionality.

Nobody will ever offer perpetual licences and perpetual new version updates for mainstream apps. They would go out of business. This is an unrealistic expectation.

The Download Agent downloads the offline installer which you can keep and re-use. Reflect Free v7 is still on their servers (I've just downloaded it to check) so v8 Free looks safe for a while yet.

If you buy a v8 licence you will are entitled to all the v8.n updates. I bought v7 when it was v7.0 and got all the updates up to the final v7.3. When v8 was released I was offered an upgrade at a 50% discount, which I took. There's no compulsion to upgrade though, the Reflect licence is perpetual and I could have just continued using v7.3 to this day. The risk is that an OS update may stop v7 working, but that hasn't happened yet. I have at least one machine still running Reflect Free v7.

    Oldie, but goodie?

Has anyone tried Cobian backup lately? Cobian Backup can be run as a service or as a regular application. I used it to a great extent for years and was surprised in the range of backups possible. You don't need to be a guru, it just has the capability for entry level and up.

I got away from it changing to windows 10, along with installing a new NAS and using their stuff. I really did forget it's name for a while. I want to look at it again. It worked for my old NAS and an internal drive as well. Supposed to work with FTP too.

CobianSoft - The home of Cobian Backup Warning, there is a one line nasty anti-Putin comment on the top.

They also offer a newer program called Cobian Reflector which offers the base features of Backup but is intended for net use.

I've been using Reflect Home, both free and licensed, and am generally happy with it but have too many computers to buy a license for each. I'd like to have everything on the same page.
