For Macrium Restore, the Boot menu needs to be repaired first.

    .
    I have Dell XPS 17.

I reset Windows recently. The reason for the reset was that up till about a month ago, I could restore Macriums without problems. Now each restore gives the message (as an option) that the Macrium boot menu needs to be restored first.

Since then, any Restore is preceded by the same message. The menu rebuild takes longer than the actual Macrium Restore.

Since I was due for a Windows Reset anyway, that's what I did. I assumed that the reset would cure whatever damage caused Macrium to continually ask to repair the boot menu.

I tried my first Restore today. I still got the same message.

Q: What action do I take to permanently repair the Macrium boot menu, and allow trouble-free recovery?

    Thanks

I'd imagine you just rebuild the Macrium boot menu item... again.

    From within "Other Tasks..."

You should probably "remove" the Macrium boot menu item that throws up that message... first.

When you go through the procedure to add the Macrium menu, you should see the options have changed to include removing the existing menu.
This was how I removed mine but I've never seen what happens if there is a damaged one. Perhaps the remove entry is replaced with a repair entry?
After removing it, the option will change back to letting you add it again.
Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect - TenForumsTutorials- This includes optionally adding a Macrium reflect option to your boot menu.

There is no Macrium KB article on repairing their boot menu.

Thanks to both @Ghot and @Try3 for their responses.

I'm posting my screenshots in a partial post now, that I must continue later. (I'm not able to handle multiple mental tasks concurrently.)

    ADDED:

By combining suggestions made by @Ghot and @Try3, I succeeded in removing and then replacing the boot menu. Everything is now behaving correctly.

    The screenshots show my procedure.

You can see there are minor differences in the procedure compare with previous screenshots uploaded by @Ghot. But all the options were clear and easy to understand.

There was no "Repair" option. It's all or nothing - which is the safest option IMO, because it allows the user to select her own options - as I did.

I tested a Recovery. That worked perfectly - with no complaints about the boot menu.

    Thanks for the help.

    @Try3:

I notice you've been @Try3ing to alter your avatar a few times.

Your latest avatar is improving - but it always looks misty and gloomy down where you are.

You can't compete with my real photo taken in the proper part of Scotland. Admittedly, I've aged a bit since that photo was taken.

    Keep @Try3ing

I changed my avatar for Memorial Day [last Monday of May] and then changed it again ready for D-Day.
My avatar is currently a photo of the statue of Piper Bill Millin.

    All the best,
    Thanks for the rep,
