its a forum a meeting place were people discuss and debate over topics so naturally people derail all the time in these places because we are emotional beings and that is what a forum is at the end of the day.

At least i derailed in a way that is still inside the grounds of the threads context and not to far removed from the scope. I didn't just start talking about cats and dogs right?
Now you've done it. By mentioning "cats and dogs" that has made them a subject that is now part of the discussion!

    I had a horrible nightmare.
I had to restore from a backup, and the only backup I had was from 3 years ago.

    The horror! The horror!

Then ofc I woke up and remembered that my last backup was 11 days ago.

Oops, I wrote that wrong. I don't care if woman are pilots and what have you, I mean stuff like this:

Stuff like that has no business in our military, and no business being taught to children. Anyway, back on topic...

Okay you meant that. I didn't read the whole article now.
If they want a night-club on the base with stand up comic or opera or ballet, or square dance or drag show.. i think that is up to the personal on the base to request what kind of entertainment they want or don't want to have.. not the brasses or the admirals. *lol*

I listen to heavy metal and if 90% want to have a rap band playing, i just don't go.. But i wont enforce my music to the majority.. i just stay away as no one cane force me to listen to crap music.

as i have closed the thread, so go for it Cats, dogs, horses, cars you name it, they are all welcome.

I was always like: What would I need a backup for? I can clean install OS and restore all settings within 1-2 hours. That is great, if you have a time for it. Once I got back from work and OS was screwed, I had 2 hours to rest before sleeping and going back to work. Restoring a system backup takes 2 mins. So it is definitely worth it.
It takes me up to a week to restore all settings as I can never remember them all, and it is trial and error to get back to where I was.

Almost every time I get a new machine I'll do a clean install, takes less than half a day to get it mostly to my liking. Then takes a week or so more to get it just right. From then on it's backup and restore if necessary, too much work any other way.

Yeah - it is all those little settings in apps that take the time. Unfortunately I do not have an eidetic memory. What was I saying....
