Macrium reflect rescue media: mouse or keyboard not working, so unable

Hello, need help with this problem, please: Lenovo Ideapad 3-17" laptop, Win 10, 64 bit. I created the "Macrium rescue media" on the same laptop before it went bad, using default settings in Macrium. My HD broke so cannot boot laptop or use the HD. So booted withthe rescue media, it brings up the Macrium screen but I none of the keys, arrows or the touchpad work so cannot proceed any further. I have a previous Macrium image of the HD on an external HD, so once I can boot it, I plan to restore from that to new SSD I have installed.

After reading another thread on this issue, I have done the following, but none have worked. The problem still remains. I have created new rescue media on a different working desktop, also Win 10 with all the different settings: Win PE 10, 11, 5, RE with the default options or all options selected. Also tried in the bios with TFEI or some thing and with legacy setting. All of them lead to the Macrium screen with no keyboard or touchpad function. Solutions? Thanks.

Can the keyboard or touchpad be used if you boot into the BIOS/UEFI?

Do you have a USB mouse that you can connect to the laptop?

Have a couple of Lenovo laptops here that I had the same problem with but a USB mouse worked (you don't really need the keyboard to work for restoring a Macrium image).

I also found that with the latest Macrium updates using Windows PE 10 version 2004 (64-Bit) the keyboard and touchpad worked OK when booting into the recovery environment with both of my laptops.

You may need to add drivers specific to your device to MR's rescue medium. See e.g.
Macrium Software | Techie Tuesday: Updating rescue media to include additional hardware drivers

    From the v8 user guide
    https://updates.macrium.com/reflect/...user_guide.pdf

    e.g. see from
Macrium Reflect v8.0 User Guide Page 314
Updating rescue media to include additional hardware drivers

    - or you might be able to use both a basic mouse and an external keyboard.

Otherwise I suppose you could remove the disk from the laptop, connect it to another PC and so restore partitions.
I can't recall seeing that done so far...(!)

Dalchina's suggestion would work, I have done just that. The last time I had to replace a failing drive in a laptop I first put the new drive in an external usb case and did the the restore using another PC.
