    @huffman

    When you start or restart the computer (if it's an HP)... the Esc or the F9 key will bring up the Boot Menu.

    The Boot Menu is simply a list of all the devices your computer can boot from.
    Note: You must have a bootable CD in the optical drive, to be able to SEE it on the Boot Menu.
    Use the arrow keys to select the one you want to boot from, and then hit the ENTER key.

    Since you made a bootable CD... you would want to choose the optical drive (the CD/DVD drive).

    OK now this is pissing me off.

    Last night I went into the bios and change the boot order so that the "ATAPI CD/DVD" was in the #1 position and "USB Hard Drive" was in the #2 position. I then saved the changes and exited.

    That I think should have fixed my problem, but wait, it did NOT.

    This morning I went back into bios and checked the boot order. Damn it was back to what it was to begin with.

    I am at wits end.

    Any ideas?

    A few years ago, I gave up messing with the boot order in the BIOS, and started using the "Boot Menu".

    Ghot where is that Boot Menu?

    Just let you know;
    Esc key brings up a menu in bios, but NOT the boot order menu.
    F9 brings up the menu as the Esc key does.
    F10 brings up the menu that I want.

    I have a later model HP system. For me the ESC key brings up a submenu where I have multiple options one being the Boot Menu. If I hit the F9 key during power on that will bring up the Boot Menu. You should probably go into your Bios/UEFI and turn off the Network Boot options unless you actually need that.
    "Windows Boot Manager" will be the internal drive the OS boots to.

    I wish knew how to get a screen shot when in the bios. It would make showing or telling what is going on.
    I have reaced a point where I just hope nothing happens that I can NOT get into Macrium Reflect.

    Thanks a million

    Use a digital camera(smart phone?) and take a picture.
