Your 2nd screenshot in post #1 shows the default values - the values you are presented with when offered the option to specify the retention rules that will be in the definition file associated with the first image you create.

At that point you can choose different values for your definition files to the default ones.

How image file sets are handled is dictated (as said above) by the definition file associated with a particular set of image files, not the default values you show.

Here I show both: you can see they are different.

Note the rt click options available from a definition file:

Okay now I created backup with definition file.

Is here any difference if I use for next backup right click on definition file or I go to existing backups and I create differential here and for full backup use "Backup Windows" context menu?

    Thank you for your reply.

Here's what I do. After any major upgrade (that's a full build upgrade, not an enablement package), many system files change.

That's when I start a new sequence of disk images, using a new folder for that set of image files on my backup disk, appropriately named. That of course is when I also, as prompted by Macrium, create the retention rules.

Thereafter I create differential images periodically as I showed in my screenshot.

    Unfortunately I'm not familiar with
I go to existing backups and I create differential here and for full backup use "Backup Windows" context menu
I assume you mean a context menu seen when rt clicking an image file. I've never tried that. That would mean navigating to the appropriate file.. I find it easier to do what I showed for differential images- do whatever you prefer if it amounts to the same thing.

Note that if you had a license for MR you could ask questions in their forum.

Macrium also has a huge help file.
