My full backup of a 500GB OS disk is 268GB with no personal files on it. Just programs and some games.

What software today really takes a few Kilobytes, lol.

    Applications...
    Games...
    Music...
    Data...
    OS...

    And so on!

Just done my first restore with 8.1. No problems but it did take 50% longer than some previous ones using Fast Delta Restore. 6min as opposed to 4min from an image taken yesterday.

Just a general comment. The "performance" tweaks and enhancements Macrium worked on for so long to boost the rev (8.1) may have inadvertently crippled or degraded other parts of the engine. Other than my own experience so far and what I'm reading leads me to say this.

Since this last update backup starts in medium Priority mode, so that may slow things a bit. Can't find place to set it to High by default.

Defaults > Advanced Settings > Priority.

Apparently that's deliberate to stop it locking up the system.
