the video rather exaggerates real world test experience so far on other posts with most getting in range 1.5x to 2x improvement but poor old @f14tomcat getting no change (using an hdd as target - not sure if usb).

However, there is a significant boost.

Actually, a more interesting test was on compressions

source - 35 gb (ignoring temp files) - nvme to nvme

    highest compression - 2 mins 45 secs - final size 20 gb

    medium compression - 1 mins 58 secs - final size 21 gb

no compression - 58 seconds - final size 35 gb

so for me, comparing against default medium

highest compression - slower and hardly saves anything

no compression - nearly twice as fast (awesome), but uses nearly twice as much space.

Medium gives a good balance between speed and time for me.

I didn't time full backup but from 266GB to 2GB incremental 30 seconds NVMe to NVMe. Much faster than before.

    Lol.

I have never been an early adopter of new technologies.

Tread carefully. I'll wait until the next revision - sooner than you think.

    Ahh, what the heck...

I put the revised build #7336 on my production system.

    Results -

Full 462 GB in 23 minutes with verification. Not bad at all. Previous version added 10 minutes. Internal SSD to internal SSD, PCI 3.x bus.

That is a massive backup - do you keep all data on C drive, or have you backed up data drives as well?

In this case it's just from the drive with the OS (C). Then again, it's a 2 TB SSD. All archival items are not on the main SSD.
Peak transfer rate during the backup was 6.7 Gbps.

My next system will be PCI 4.x or 5.x, funds permitting.

You must have very large Personal Folders on your OS drive, user/*. That is 15x my size.
