Cannot get rid of Macrium Reflect in my regisrty!

This software has arbitrarily injected itself into my registry and even importing a clean copy of my laptop's registry from before when Macrium was installed on my PC isn't working. When I attempt to import that clean .reg file, I get an error message pop-up saying that I either don't have the required rights (I am admin!) or some running processes are using some of the keys.

Now I would think that Macrium is using those keys that are left behind even after I completely wipe this mess off my laptop with Revo Pro (which deletes all known registry entries). When I uninstalled it with Revo pro and rebooted the laptop, went back into Registry Editor and found that under HKCU and HKLM there were 2 entries left even after I had manually deleted those entires!

Is there a way I could get Macrium out of my Windows Registry without it injecting some fragments of it back upon reboot?

You may have to re-install it first... then do this...

v5: How to uninstall, removing all traces of Macrium Reflect (v5)

If when searching for Macrium leftovers, you find anything in the WinSxS folder... do NOT just delete them.

Instead... open an elevated command prompt and run this command...
    Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

You sure it will remove the registry entries?

I can't answer that without knowing what the registry entries are.
For example, if you had the paid version... Macrium doesn't remove the licensing information, in case you ever change your mind.

And as I mentioned above... if the reg entries you're talking about, have to do with the WinSxS folder.. leave them alone.

Acronis True Image... now that was hard to uninstall. You even have to get an Acronis removal tool to do it.
    Macrium isn't like that.

Macrium does have 3 processes and a Service too. You could stop those... then uninstall it.
I have the feeling you're "seeing" something that isn't... bad or a problem.

It would help us to help you, if you listed exactly what leftovers you are seeing and where you are seeing them.
Otherwise... this is gonna take a looooong time.

    Just chiming in.

It is relatively easy to erase nearly all major traces of Macrium.

First, display all Hidden Files in File Explorer. You can revert when complete.

Look under Program Files, ProgramData, AppData (every folder) and in the System Registry for Macrium and Paramount Software.
Make sure that you backup the System Registry first.

There might be stray entries in your Start Menu which can be deleted manually.

if this doesn't solve your issue, contact: support@macrium.com and they will assist.
There is a specific utility available that will safely remove the remaining entries in the filesystem and registry.

    Cheers.
