Changing the name of backup file in macrium?

I'm trying to change the name of my backup file in macrium. I know i can change the name of the backup file before i make the backup, but it always seems to change it to something else?

Hi, answer depends what your question relates to.
You need to ask a more precise question.

    Are you talking about
    a. An existing set of image files and a definition file you use to add further incremental or differential files to that set of files?
    or
    b. An initial full image?

Remember, there are plenty of videos on Youtube about using Macrium R and it has a huge help file.

And if you were to buy a license, you could ask your question on Macrium's forum.

It might help to understand your situation were you to post a screenshot or two. Thanks.

Once you disable the ImageID numbers, your backups will only have the name you give them.
The ImageID Number checkbox is checked by default. The following will uncheck that box.

    Disable Macrium ImageID numbers...

Open the Registry editor (regedit.exe), and...
    Go here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\macrium\reflect\Settings
And set: PrefixWithUniqueSetID ...to "0" (zero)
