Macrium clone or image --

The only time I have ever seen a download fail a hash check was after there had been a temporary interruption to the internet connection while it was downloading. And I would have expected the MCT to check the hash before it made the USB in the first place.

Anyway, I think you did check for Bios updates [and hardware driver updates] at some stage in all this.

I am a happy camper and a satisfied customer. The solution offered by Quandry fixed the process and my system is now restored!!
