Problem with macrium restore from one pc to another one

    Hello

I am using macrium reflect free v8.06867 on a win10 pro v21h2 osbuild 19044.1826. On the PC there are OS(C) ssd and a OS(D) hdd. Hdd was the previous primary, then I cloned it to the SSD. Now D is secondary. I did the .mrimg of OS(D).
Mounting on the same computer workf fine.
I tried to mount it on a different computer with WIN10 home V21h1 osbuild 19043.1826 but with no result. Of course i applied thasame procedure for mounting it as in the other PC (where it does work). A pop up appears for a while whose title is "Assigning drive letter (example) Z" the bargraph move a little. Then it disappear but ther is no drive z at all with all folders one is expecting to find.
Macrium reflect of the two computer is exactly the same. I tried many times rebooting but no way.
Very grateful if somebody could help. Thank you in advance
    Rob

Can you mount ANY MR image file on the 2nd PC?

Try creating one of a partition of the second PC, then try mounting that on the same PC.

We need to see a screenshot from disk manager it sounds as if you haven't copied the boot files which may be on another partition

This seems to be the problem. I did a .mrimg on the second PC (WIN10 home)
. Then I tried to mount it but it couldn't mount. The same behavior I described in my first post. Now I try to mount it in the first PC then I will tell you what happen.
    Thank you

In the first PC (Win10 Pro) I can mount the new .mrimg. What do you think about it? I forget to say that being OS(D) big enough img is created on a usb hdd

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling macrium. From memory, it is an msi installer, so it will probably offer to repair when you try that.

I just checked In %windir%\installer folder

Thanks- that appears to point to some issue with the second PC of course.

It's a new one to me...
Event IDs triggered by mounting include:
    1176 - Physical disk arrived
100 - volume snapshot driver scans..
101- volume snapshot driver completed scan
98 - report of check drive if healthy

There will be something for the dismount.

If it doesn't get far enough to generate those normal in mounting, then the mounting process is failing.
Or something might be dismounting it immediately.

Probably uses the Virtual Disk service which should be running, manual.

I suggest you set Macrium R aside for a moment.

Find or download an iso file and see if you can mount that.

Ok now it seems it's working (after app repair). By the way is it possible that explorer comes with a popup windows saying
    "Impossible to access to s:\
    Access denied "
in the case you don't check the two options in the "backup selection" window (when you configure the mount)
"enable access to restricted folders" and
    "Make writable ..."
Only if I check options then the disk is mounted correctly.
    Thank you so much
