Really bad plan - drive might not fail but bcd could easily get corrupted due to a glitched update. Without a boot usb drive, you are snookered.
    Can't macrium fix this?

Well not yet, as im not sure if it's really worth it to backup windows on one of my usb memory sticks. It seems like my laptop, or most laptops has a onekey recovery solution, that doesn't seem to require a usb memory stick. Is it worth it to backup windows on a usb memory stick on my laptop as well?

If you'd like to remove it, then you can do so in Macrium as easily as you added it. That's your choice, I don't mind the slight delay so keep it in the boot menu on all my machines.
Is it possible to hide macrium's boot menu by default, and only bring it up, if you press a specific key on your keyboard? That would let you go straight to windows, while still having the option to bring up the boot menu if you should need it.

No - you cannot do that. You can set the time delay to as low as 2seconds.

Would it make sense to save the backup on cloud? That would get rid of the boot menu everytime i start windows.

    I wouldn't even consider it.

Use an external drive like a portable HDD, SSD or Thumb Drive.

The easiest way to get rid of the boot menu every time you start is to open the rescue media builder and remove it. You should then make a rescue USB in case you ever need to boot to Reflect and do a restore.
