You can only do differentials on free version (unless doing 30 day trial of paid version).
I'm confused. I signed up for the free trial version (with full intentions of going Paid) and it appears that I have both differential and incremental files being created. However, these don't seem to be in keeping ith the schedule I taught I had created.

I guess I need to watch this more closely.

I think I scheduled a Full every Monday and an Incremental evry other day.

You can do incrementals with trial version, but only for 30 days unless you buy a licence. If you choose to revert to free version, you will only be able to create differentials. However, you can still restore incrementals made in free period.

Had you downloaded the free (not trial) version, you would only be able to make differentials.

Actually, it makes no real difference. Free will offer to change to the 30-day trial if you try to use any of the Premium features.

Free, Trial, or paid, they all install exactly the same software. Only the licence key is different, and determines which features are available.

Yeah agreed - it is just semantics really. The free version is a bit clearer i.e. it offers the free trial and you can decline immediately. The trial version just dives in as the trial, but (as you say), you can change the key to revert to free version.

Either way - free = differentials only, paid (and within 30 day trial period) = differential and incrementals.

Of course, once you have used Rapid Delta Restore, going back to free version is unattractive.

In the free version, when you do a restore, the whole backup is restored. In the paid version, it only (by default) restores the differences. It is a bit like incrementals in reverse. For only modest changes since last backup, this can be very quick e.g. less than 2 minutes.

I thought I had it ALL DONE. What a disappoint when I realized that th last two backups and a full image lainched but almost immediately terminated (with a failure).

My plan was to delete all but the first successful full image and reschedule. Then I discovered that deleting scan results is not all that easy.

Was there any error message when it failed?
You can only delete backups via Macrium if Image Guardian is enabled - if you’re running the trial version then it may have been activated automatically.

I did not see one but it is likely that there was one.

I've deleted all of my backups andimages and am starting over. Being more careful of what I am doing this time.

I have one full image and one incremental now. Waiting til tomorrow for the next scheduled backup.
