Not satisfied with IDrive or Acronis. What will do what I want & need?

I did have an older 2014 Windows 8.1 PC without NVMe, and used Acronis True Image, up until the 2019 version and it used to do what I wanted - to make a clone of my HD, where I could see all the files with my Altap Salamander 2 pane file manager, and copy them back to the PC if I wanted to. I also tried IDrive but didn't like it, and it wouldn't even format a drive on the fly, like Acronis did.

Then about 14 months ago, I messed up my OS slightly, and it wouldn't backup anymore, so I didn't backup for about a year, until I got this newer Windows 10 PC with NVMe up and running, a few weeks ago. So I just upgraded Acronis from 2019 to the latest ATI Home, but it backs up things in a way where I cant read them with Windows File Manager OR Salamander - some kind of proprietary file that only their software can access? ( I'm guessing, to keep you subscribing, in order to read any previous backups? )

SO now I'm frustrated. I JUST want something that will clone either my whole HD, or the D: drive with my data, and let me read it with Salamander or at least File Manager, with no hassles.

Should I go back to Acronis 2019, if I can?

    1. A full OS image backup will be approx. 1/2 the size of the total "used space" on the C:\ drive.
    2. Backing up takes about 75 seconds for every 20GB of "used space" on the C:\ drive.

Acronis? Absolutely not. @Ghot gave you the right solution.

It's interesting that Acronis and IDrive both boast of online storage and backup in the cloud, but I calculated that doing so, with my 360 GB of HD used, at 20% CPU usage ( leave some for ME! ) would take about 3 weeks.

If you end up deciding to go with Macrium Reflect... don't try to just un-install Acronis.
Google for an Acronis removal tool. This tool works much better, if you haven't partially un-installed Acronis.

Oops - too late. I just uninstalled it.

Does Macrium offer a cloud plan too?

No, Macrium does not offer cloud storage.

Just got around to looking at Macrium. A bit confusing for me, as a new user.

I want to clone my main HD which is C: ( NVMe ) and D: data HD, onto a docked HD on USB3 Thermaltake BlacX as G:

For some reason, G: shows up on Altap Salamander, but not as a destination on Macrium.

I can't get Macrium to work, and cant use the forum because I havent paid. What am I supposed to do?
