    Tranfer Encrypted files for MEE?

Minecraft make a Minecraft Education Edition fit for young children to university students. You just need a microsoft Education email.

I reinstalled windows and I need a world back from my old saves.

The world is at the following location:
    D:\WpSystem.old\S-1-5-21-3946157203-3804477442-1580026413-1007\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftEducationEdition_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds

Each folder is Not encrypted, but all files inside are. (Yellow padlock on each one)
And no, my hard drive is not encrypted.

I need a way to copy this file to my new Minecraft install which is here:
    C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Minecraft Education Edition\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds

    I'm assuming I'd use TRUSTEDINSTALLER but I can't find a way!

    Thanks,
    - James

I posted recently (about 1 month) about this but I had a different aim really then, so I've updated it here.

    Hi James -

When you try to copy that World folder what is the exact error?

Well, I have to run - here are two resources:

Using Takeown.exe Command to Take Ownership of a File or Folder – TheITBros

Take Ownership and Gain Full Permissions of Any Folders or Files in Windows

    Cheers,

    James,
Try booting from your Macrium Reflect Rescue USB and using the command line.

Alternatively you can try booting from a LinuxMint USB, etc. to access/copy your files without having to modify ownership and permissions.

I've done the Macrium Reflect, but I'm yet to try LINUX Mint. I'll do this ASAP.
(Unless someone gives an easier solution )

Ventoy iso bootloader EASY installs from usb for any iso os file
James, you may want to consider using Ventoy to make a Linux Mint USB. One USB for booting multiple ISOs.

You're welcome ..... very cool to only need one USB for multiple ISOs if you don't have multiple USBs laying around.

I've found Macrium Reflect command prompt to let me get around permission issues without having to change them, that's why I suggested that. I'm leery of changing file permissions if avoidable for fear of breaking things.

    I do but I don’t

    I have about 8 drives,
    • Two of which are broken
    • Three of which are below 8GB
    • Two are too big and have files on them
    • One is just perfect!

    I’ll look into this tomorrow.

For now I’m going to .

My next rep pip will be gold

Thank you for the help as always Steve!

    Hi James -

    Try this:

Launch a third party file explorer like Explorer++ with Trusted Installer permissions.
This should bypass all file permissions.

Explorer++ - A small and fast file manager for Windows
