This is what I used:

robocopy "C:\Users\user90\Pictures\testrobo" "D:\Target" *.jpg *.jpeg *.png *.gif /MIR

...it copied the folder structure perfectly.

Thanks for letting me know of GRSYNC and that Macrium isn't the best for this like I suspected (I planned to try it for this).
Robocopy /MIR seems a very good option and the command given by idgat:
