Windows image restore macrium wont boot
Hi
Ive had an issue where the os drive would not boot.
Ive tried restoring from an earlier image and this also results in the same issue.
Ive tried a fresh Windows install which does boot.
In macrium there is a repair boot option as windows version doesnt work.
In macrium it sees the disk and is install but on the next page the os disk does not show.
I can restore and image to it.
I have the last install imaged.
The only way it will boot is bu freshly installing windows.
Ive tried bootrec commands
bootrec /FixMbr
bootrec /FixBoot
bootrec /ScanOs
bootrec /RebuildBcd
However fixboot cmd is stating cant access due to permissions. However the msdos cmd box shows administrator.
What am I missing here please.
I am wondering if a big if. On the fresh install i simlly restore only the install partitiob leaving the working mbr partition from the windows 11 install ib olace in effect slotting it in. Would this work.
Ive tried the usual diskpart guides vut this also fails.
Help please. Many thanks
M
