Want to find File History Folder in order to trim

    Well, I did what I suggested I might do. I went into control panel/system/storage.
    File history had these telescoping folders (see my earlier response).
    Anyway, the subfolder MYNAME had 58+GB. I right-clicked and deleted it (it warned me about system files within the folder but I figured it was still within file history so it should not be an issue). It did delete. Rebooted. No issue.
    Checked C drive and...drumroll:

    Used: 108 gb

    Free: 129 gb

    I will probably never know what happened.

    I'm UK based too, so it's late for me too. What Mac and I cannot figure out is how you managed to put the History folder on the C: drive. That should specifically be forbidden when setting up File History, even a separate partition on the same physical disk can't be used. The only available options should be a completely separate physical disk (such as an external USB drive) or a network drive.

    I suppose we will probably never know, but if I were to guess it may be that you had a Onedrive folder and that somehow appeared to be a network drive that could be used.
