Unable to Find Recovery Environment after boot device change and mod

Hello! I am having troubles using system restore and system reset.

I get this error when attempting to use system restore:



As you can see here, I get the message: system restore encountered an error. please try to run system restore again (0x81000203)

And on system recovery, I get the message: Could not find Recovery Environment

This was discovered today when I tried to restore and reset my pc, after discovering that port 1803 was in use by Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ), and needs to be restored to fix an issue with a Server using port 1803

I then discovered this problem, but I think I know the issue:

My new operating system drive, created by cloning the SSD drive in a varient fashion with AIOMEI backup, has two new drives it added. The problem is: The drive for the C: drive is now on the New drive, as well as the System Partition, but the recovery partition is on a different drive altogether.

As seen in the following image, the partitions were split up after being cloned and copied over.





Now, I can't restore.

Is there any way to move the healthy partition over or move the others back?

For a reset save files the important files are saved.
A new operating system is installed.
Drivers and applications need to be reinstalled.

The same result can be accomplished by performing a custom install and restoring desired files from Windows.old.

If you can boot the computer without problems another option is Windows refresh.
This uses the Windows cloud to install the latest version of Windows instead of having to update after a reset save files.

Find a flash drive that you can format (> or = 8 GB).

On a working computer create a bootable Windows 10 iso 21H2:

Recover Windows 10 from a Recovery Drive


Boot to the Windows 10 iso:
List of PC brands with their corresponding hot-keys

a) Attempt startup repair:
Run Startup Repair in Windows 10

b) Attempt system restore:
System Restore Windows 10

c) If the above fail perform a custom install:
Custom Install Windows 10

Refresh Windows 10


If there are any partition layout problems an additional option is to backup important files then perform a clean install:
Clean Install Windows 10


Any bootable Windows iso flash drive can be used for it's Recovery Environment (RE).

In case you want to install an older version of Windows you can create an older Windows 10 iso:

One way is using 7-zip or similar:

copy the \windows\system32\recovery folder from the installation media into your c:\windows\system32.
Say yes when it asks to overwrite.

Then from an admin cmd:
reagentc /enable

Ok, so I tried to use a boot drive, but it erased all the files on the wrong drive. Now the boot drive has been sized down from 4 TB to 32 GB. Can I still recover my data and restore all the files, or is the Drive and it's files lost?

So, my recovery folder does not exist as a path. It has no path, and it's not modifyable.



The one is highlighted, and has no drive letter, and ccannot be assigned a drive letter. How do I fix this?

Please comment with a step by step on what was done not done.
