weird problem with Acronis back up

I've used Acronis True Image Home ver 11 for years
they helped my brother catch my computer guy cheating with the installation of an old RAM card, long story
    and hours of MEM test

I'm not very computer savvy but, I can follow instructions again and again...
I connected my external hard drive to do a back up of the new computer...
progressed through the usual steps until I can to the window to choose the hard drive I wanted to back up

and.. the hard drive (was "C" in the older computer with win 7)
did not appear in that window

only the drive I was going to back up to

opened it to day to do a screen shot of the window, today a message opened... below

Post a screenshot of disk management window.

That acronis ui looks quite old.

1 What can you tell us about the type of drive in the new computer?
2 What happened when you installed Acronis on the new computer?
3 Have you tried both using the installed Acronis & Acronis on its bootable USB?
4 Has Acronis ever successfully backed up the new computer?
5 Does the Acronis True Image Home 11 user manual provide any more guidance on the subject?
6 Have you tried searching Acronis support & the Acronis user forum?

    All the best,
    Denis

Well done. A hole in one.

Acronis True Image Home 11 does not support EFI & the new computer is bound to have that.

Someone's surely going to recommend or suggest you change to using Macrium Reflect (free/paid) - presently 50% off for 'black Friday'.

Updated, quality product. Free version offers bootable medium, differential but not incremental imaging. Paid includes that and more + access to their forum.

If you want a simple GUI, consider Aomei Backupper (free/paid). Free includes incremental imaging.

Depending on what make your disk is, there are free somewhat limited acronis for wd,samsung, seagate, maxtor.

Maybe that will do all you want.

    CeriseR,

Since you are going to have to change [in the light of what SIW2 has discovered], take a look at the choices available. Many are listed towards the end of my ditty - File backup vs imaging, imaging utilities, backing up drivers [post #3] - TenForums

I've been using the free Acronis TI versions provided by Samsung-Seagate & WD for a decade and I have no complaints.

    Best of luck,

4 Has Acronis ever successfully backed up the new computer?**no, that is the issue
5 Does the Acronis True Image Home 11 user manual *** that URL tells me it does not exist *****

Tried to sign in, did not see a "product" line available, found new software on amazon today
last night the usual run around, my ID no longer in the system said "wrong email or password" then would not let me start a new entry because the registration key is already in the system

    All the best,
    Denis
maybe, like quicken, the question is, is Acronis true image back up the best in 2021?
