    What are the real observable advantages of the paid version vs free?

    I know incremental and delta are added, and Image Guardian...and you've then the right to use their forum...

    I've other solutions for file backup, for example...

    file and folder backups
    Incremental backups
    Redeploy to dissimilar hardware
    Encryption.

    More than anything, I bought Macrium to just help support a company that has made a free application that I have used for years and I felt throwing some money their direction was a worthy investment.

    I first bought a 4-pack of v7 in a Black Friday sale 3 years ago. Yes, that's pretty much it - plus the warm feeling of supporting an excellent UK company. Registering to post on the forum is perpetual, it doesn't expire after a year like the support does.

    Of the Premium features, I find Incremental images and Rapid Delta Restore the two I use and appreciate the most.

    I get the impression from what I've read that other programs offer more flexible options for file backup.
