Tip for old laptop and macrium reflect problem.
Hello everyone,
I write on the windows 10 forum even if I speak of 7. I do not know if I do well, in case let me know
I resurrected an old laptop that had dried out cpu / gpu heat conducting paste and when it reached 99 degrees it would shut down (often).
I put the heat conducting paste back and it seems to be fine.
I wanted some advice on how to improve it. The laptop is an Acer Extensa 5230. I think it was born with Windows Vista because it has the Vista logo and the serial number below I think it refers to sight. The old owner installed windows 7 ultimate SP1 instead. It has a celeron @ 2.00 Ghz and 2 GB of ram (expandable 4). The HDd is 150GB.
Do you think I should leave it like this or make updates?
Can i upgrade it to windows 10?
The second question is that I was installing macrium reflect 8 free and it gives me an error message.
I installed the Servicing stack update (SSU) (KB4490628) and SHA-2 update (KB4474419) released September 10, 2019. Restarted but the problem persists.
How do I resolve?
