Windows 10 Backup File History on multiple flash drives / eject proble

I wish to make backups using separate flash drives for each main shell folder, e.g. Documents, Music. After the backup is finished, I click 'Stop using drive' and eject the flash drive.
Unfortunately when I later insert e.g. the Documents flash drive, it hasn't remembered all the other folders I'd excluded. It seems I need to do the exclusions AGAIN.
After ejection, how can I open the flash drive so it remembers my previously-set options (exclusions)?

I don't think you can - you are trying to use FH in a manner never intended. AFAIK, It only saves one set of inclusions/exclusions.

Exclusions are set in RAM until the computer restarts or the drive is ejected. Once the drive is ejected the exclusions are forgotten. I don't think what you want is available in Windows, maybe there is a 3rd party app that can do that.

    Hello @WinXNewby,

Unless there is some way [ Software ] that you can save the exclusions PRIOR to Shutdown, then NOT to my knowledge. On the NEXT Startup/Reboot, they are removed during POST [ Power On Self Test ].

    I hope this helps.

I am confused by both the above posts: surely the exclusions are not reset on re-booting? We are talking about FH folder exclusions, aren't we? I don't use them, as I define exactly, and only, the folders I want backed up, and that setting certainly survives a reboot.

The exclusions I am thinking of get removed when the op turns off FH (or rather, stops using a particular drive).

Drive is no longer present, so Exclusions no longer apply.

well, I was puzzled by that answer, as it suggested a fatal flaw in FH, so I just tested it: I can confirm that folder exclusions (whether set in the Control Panel FH options, or the Settings option) do survive both log-off, re-boot and drive disconnection. But that is no help to the OP.
