You should not have to reinstall Windows again as you should be restoring to that partition (blowing away whatever is on it).

I'm only restoring that PARTITION though, not the entire drive. The partitions on the drive that would contain the GPT boot data and the like are screwed up from the prior failed restore attempts...?

OK - the image VERIFIED that time! Horay! Crossing my fingers things will cooperate this time!

Reinstalling Win10 atm, then will boot back into the Macrium Rescue USB and try restoring the image again!

If you are only restoring the C: partition then the other partitions should not have been affected.

In summary, after original and successful install of Win 10 (GPT format) there should have been 4 partitions:
    - EFI System
    - Reserved (but not visible from Disk Management, use MiniTool Partition Wizard)
    - C:
    - Recovery
The restore should only be dealing with the C: partition

OK.....the restore completed successfully, so I ran the 'Fix Windows Boot Problems' command on the Macrium Reflect Rescue USB before I rebooted, as Bree had suggested....

Windows tries to boot, but then I just get a 'Inaccessible Boot Device" bluescreen...?

On booting back into the Macrium Reflect USB, it seems to be listing the DATA drive as C: and the Windows drive I just restored to as D: ?

Could this be that the restored partition doesn't have the drivers to load the hard drive it's on on boot....? Does that make sense?

OK - noticed something the first time I tried to do the restore since it was verified. It had left it selected to restore MBR. Not sure if that would make a difference, but am trying to restore the C: partition again but with 'restore MBR' UNSELECTED this time as this is a GPT disk...?

I recall one of the annoyances is that program tries to use the mounted devices key from what it thinks is the os partition, which likely explains the lettering you see.

OK, I'm really at a loss guys....I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just keep getting the inaccessible boot device error. @Bree - or anybody else who uses Macrium more than me...what am I doing wrong???

I just did the 5th fresh install of Win10 on this, re-created a Macrium 8 Rescue USB, booted to that, deleted the C: partition, restored the C: partition from the image, ran the Fix Windows Boot Errors thing......STILL get the Inaccessible Boot Device error.

Tried the 'Redeploy' option as well, and then on boot, I just get a 'Please Wait' and a screen that takes me to select a keyboard rather than my OS booting....

Could really use some advice here

Can you provide screenshots of disk management from booted media.
You can borrow my boot media,
    1904v3.iso
extract the 1904v3.iso to usb using this: Usb7ice.zip

This is what I see in Macrium right now - the disk image that I am trying to copy the C: partition is on the top, the lower row is the NVME drive on the laptop I am trying to copy to....you can see that the lower row shows an Acer partition (the old computer was an Acer) already because it just finished restoring the partition to the laptop a few minutes ago again when I found out AGAIN that it still won't boot...

The only thing I've changed is cloning over the C: partition and then running the 'fix windows boot error' command and redeploy commands in the Macrium USB to try and get it to work...I don't know why it's listing the 'C:' drive as drive 'F:' - that wasn't my doing...

Once you have successfully installed Win 10 in the F: partition, fire up MR and drag and drop the C: image into the F:.

But I have to delete F: first right?

If that's what you're asking me to do, I've now tried that like....5 times....

The restore completes successfully, but on reboot I just get 'inaccessible boot device'

So I re-boot back into the Macrium Rescue USB and run the 'Fix Windows Boot Errors' command, reboot and then either still get 'inaccessible boot device' or I get a 'Please Wait' screen that then just takes me to a menu to select a keyboard layout...
