If you are still using Windows backup & restore for your system images then you are taking an unnecessary risk with your backups.

A recovery disc ( cd or dvd ) is not necessary. You could use usb stick.

It is a workaround and the poor old gent is already confused.

Read where the originator of the thread is coming from-he needs a Chromebook or will become totally confused. He is in his 80's and unskilled.
We have to keep this in perspective for him.
