Backing up Drives with Macrium Reflect 8.0 Home

    Hello

Is it adviseable to Image all 3 System Drives, for example M.2 Boot Drive, Game Sata SSD, and Storage Drive? if so i guess i'll put up with the slow transfer rate at times of the 8TB drive, since my other external 4TB may not hold all the Images, plus Laptop images on same drive

You should image/backup anything that is important or cannot easily be recreated. You may be able to reinstall your OS and apps, but that could take half a day to a day, or you could image it and restore within an hour (much less if SSD's involved).
Only you know how that applies to your system.

I image system/program drives - anything that might have to be (re-)installed and have settings adjusted to user requirements.

I simply backup (SyncBackFree) in native format all user created files.

Left at default settings....MR8 will make backups that are apporx. 1/2 the size of the data on a given drive.

For example... if you have, say... 6TB on your 8TB storage drive, the backup will be about 3TB.

I just meant that when backing up the Windows drive, the size of the backup is not that big of a deal.
When backing up storage drives... make sure you have room to save the backup.

    I schedule three backup jobs
    • Backup up everything weekly
    • Backup system drive daily
    • Backup user files hourly

I use full / differential or incremental backups as appropriate using Reflect

Took about 6 hours for Game Sata SSD, 1:01am til around 7 or 8am this morning, M.2 Nvme SSD about an hour, still storage drive to do, but not too many files on that drive, so hopefully pretty quick.

replying currently from secondary Gaming laptop, while Desktop finishes up the monthly System backups, then will swap and game on that one later on i think, then do the backups on the Laptop i think, much less files than Desktop though, so don't think will take too long hopefully
