MR "...does NOT do a good Verification" -- how did MR do a bad verification? I want to learn more about this.
Me, too, Roland. See my #19 above. It's just not clear what OP is claiming, or how he knows "what he's claiming" is true, so I've asked him for evidence. I have two suspicions: (1) a simple mistake in settings, or (2) an inadequate target device for the images. (If, for instance, an MR user tries to create images directly on a flash drive, all kinds of "stuff" can happen.)

Paul Black that is a heck of a list. I made a copy of it and will keep it. I remember using some of those years ago but I have been using Macrium Reflect for the last few years and I hope I never have to us it. The reason I say that is when trying to restore an image, you reach a point where it just seems to end for making decisions. At that point you don't know what to do. Macrium was supposed to fix this a couple years ago, but I do NOT see that they have.

Ghot, I had just comment that I was NOT sure how to restore an image using Macrium Reflect.

Just right click the image you want, and choose Restore.Click Next a few times, then a small windows will pop up asking if you're sure you want to "overwrite".Put a checkmark in the box and click OK.

This still leaves me confused. Are you using a rescue disc for restoring the image? A step by step method to restore would be great.

    Thanks both of you.

Yes. I use the bootable rescue media to restore.
Restoring Windows from within Windows is weird. Because it has to reboot anyway.

    1. Boot from the rescue media.
    2. Right click on the image you want to restore, and choose: Restore.
    3. Click next a few times, then in the popup asking if you want to overwrite Windows, check mark the box and choose: OK
    4. By default it will do a "Delta restore"... just restoring things that have changed.

I don't like Delta Restore, so I go into Advanced Options and UNcheck that box.

Me thinks you're over thinking this.

If anything goes wrong, just boot from the rescue media and try again.
As long as you HAVE a backup... you can try 100 times, till you get it right.

In posts 10 and 18,"bad memory" is used. What steps have been taken to verify such a situation actually exists?
Faulty memory sticks will affect more programmes than Macrium. The only common connection between Memory and Macrium is the letter "M".
Also in post 18,"not good verification" is used, which sounds suspiciously like "Read the freaking manual" wasn't used either.
]RTFM is the acronym for those addicted to acronyms].
    Have you considered uninstalling/reinstalling Macrium?
I've used Macrium [paid] for years and the only problem encountered was the hardware/software between my ears,,not between the PC's side panels.

Joeandmarg0 my memory is not great (78 yrs old) and it has been a while since I tried to use Macrium Reflect on that particular PC. Yes I uninstalled and reinstalled MR numerous times. As I remember after running the "Verify", it just came back with a popup that said it could NOT verify the backup image. After a lot of research, the conclusion I came up with (right or wrong) was that the memory was not right (or was bad). When I checked the memory, it does check good. I know it makes no sense, but that how I remember it.

I am now using AOMEI as a restore program on that PC. I really like it, as it is well documented and has great features. I still use MR on my other PCs, but I considering switching all my PCs over to AOMEI.

I am considering this problem solved since I have a solution that seems to workl

    Thanks everyone

    Thanks.

Excellent news. I am glad that I was able to help and AOMEI worked out for you. As I said previously, I have used it for years and NEVER had a problem with it.

Please mark this thread as Solved.

Paul, just a FYI - was talking to Aomei Support the other day, and it's working with Windows 11 too, though they are still doing checks until release
