    Macrium Reflect 8

I'm setting up a new laptop and I'm having trouble with Macrium Reflect 8. My first problem is that I booted from a Macrium boot disk to make an image before I setup the laptop. Even though Macrium said it was successfully made I can't find the image on the USB HDD. The second problem is that once I booted the new laptop, I installed Macrium Reflect 8 and made an image. When I mount the Image and look at my user folder not everything is showing. There is no desktop folder. I don't know if there are other files missing. I'm going to delete the image and try again. Anyone know why the desktop isn't listed?

You should be able to see c:\users\yourname\desktop folder which will display all items on desktop.

Of course, you cannot backup C drive to the C drive.

You need to post some images to clarify your query.

The Image has c:\users\myname\. It doesn't have the desktop folder. I'm making another image.

Now I'm really confused. The no desktop folder is not a problem with Macrium. The problem is with Windows 10. I just used File Explorer to look at c:\users\my name and the desktop folder isn't showing.

I just created a test folder on the desktop. When I right click and select properties it shows c:\users\username\OneDrive\desktop as the location. How do I move the desktop back to the user folder on the laptop?

I took a chance and right clicked on the desktop folder in file explorer and clicked on Restore Default and the desktop is no longer on OneDrive. I have no idea of how the desktop got moved. I'm marking this as solved.

You found answer before I got chance to reply. It is a PITA that you click wrong link and it decides to move the downloads (or one of others) folder to onedrive. I want to keep these folders on local drive as using onedrive causes chaos if using multiple pcs with same onedrive account. Glad you found problem, and it was not our dear friend "Reflect".
