Doing Macrium backups as another user

I bought my computer back in March and only now have gotten around to create a normal user-account, instead of using the original admin account when I first set up windows 10.
    (Edition Windows 10 Home
    Version 21H1
    Installed on ‎2021-‎03-‎09
    OS build 19043.1081
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0)

I have managed to pretty well get everything up and running in my user-account but realized that I had set up Macrium to back up while in my admin account. Will the scheduled backups still run while in my user-account, or will I have to create a new backup in my user-account? Or is there another secret way to get Macrium to read the backup.xml file while in my user-account?

edit: have to add that I use Macrium 7 free edition

aslo I originally created a post in "Installation and Upgrade" by mistake

Don't know if Macrium will do an unattended backup while in your account as it was created on another account.
Launch Macrium and see if it is set to do an unattended backup. If it doesn't, create a new scheduled backup.

    Wait & See

I kind of suspected that (all this newfangled windows stuff is all new to me). I will probably just switch to my admin account when the backup is due and then switch back.

Now this is interesting. I just manually ran the scheduled backup while in my user account and it ran successfully. I checked the "Reflect Defaults" for scheduling and there is a checkmark in "Use the Windows System Account to Run Scheduled Tasks" and there is a "note: the user must be a member of the admin group" just beneath where my admin user-name is listed.

Tomorrow at 9am is the next scheduled backup (1st Monday of the month) so I'll see if it successfully does the scheduled backup while I am in my regular user-account.

Macrium scheduled backups run on schedule regardless of what user is currently logged in

Doing Macrium backups as another user

I have what I think is a similar problem I have been having a lot of trouble with a single Local Admin User Account and have created an additional standard user Local Account. I have been advised to change this to an admin account after first setting up Macrium Reflect. I have Macrium 8 but it was purchased over a year ago so Macrium support no longer available for it.

Should I set up Macrium first on the old User Account, and then after changing new User Account to admin, repeat the Macrium backup in the new User Account. I intend gradually to change everything over into the new account.

Hope it is not too late to use this thread. It seems closest to my immediate problem.

Also, do I need to edit parameters at early stage or can this be left to later.

    Thanks anyone listening.

Although your 12 months dedicated support has ended, your purchased licence entitles you to register and post on the Macrium Forum. This registration is perpetual, so you still have a route to get support. This Macrium forum post seems to be relevant to your question. The forum is open for everyone to read, but you must register to post.

Macrium Reflect scheduling uses by default the account name you were signed in with when you set up the schedule. As reported earlier in this thread, the scheduling should run with the original account even if you now sign in with a different one. If you delete the original account you'd have a problem, but you can change the account it uses if needs be.
