You could try Aomei Backupper (free/licensed)
    - simple GUI (interface)

    - disk imaging - periodic use strongly recommended - allows you to rescue your whole system even if your disk fails
    - file backup

Note: Whilst Macrium Reflect (free) is often recommended here, its GUI looks more challenging, and it does not provide file backup and there's no access to support.

    Imaging & Backup Software:

This Software is listed in alphabetical order as opposed to relevance order.

    > Acronis True Image - PAID
    > AOMEI Backupper Standard Edition - Free Backup Software for Windows - FREE
    > EaseUS ToDo Backup - FREE
    > FreeFileSync: Open Source File Synchronization & Backup Software - FREE
    > Karen's Replicator - Backup Utility - FREE
    > Macrium Reflect - FREE Edition - FREE
    > NovaBackup - PAID
    > Paragon Backup & Recovery - FREE
    > Second Copy Automatic Backup Software - PAID
    > SyncBackFree: Backup and Synchronization Software - FREE
    > SyncToy - MS Download Centre - FREE

I personally use AOMEI Backupper Standard Edition [ as mentioned above ] because it has an easy to follow and use UI. I have used it for years . . .

    > AOMEI Backupper Standard Edition - Free Backup Software for Windows

    I hope this helps.

There's a new backup software also. Just read about it a week or so ago...

I note that's just disk imaging - no file backup, and as a new prog, a user might prefer to go with one that's known and established.

Well, it does everything Macrium does (that most people need), except file and folder backup, viBoot and the ability to "explore" backups.

Yes, it's a new program, but seems to be a reputable site.

Hasleo provides Windows Backup & Clone, Data Recovery, Windows To Go Creator, and more.

Macrium Reflect Free is excellent. Acronis software is best avoided.

I vote for Macrium Free for disk imaging & SyncBack Free for file backups. I just started using Macrium last year and didn't find it difficult at all. SyncBack Free is another story. I know you want something that's real easy and SyncBack has a fairly steep learning curve. But, once you get it set up you really don't have to ever change much again. Also, it has a portable version which I like.

As you probably know, the paid for version of Reflect supports file & folder backup.

Yes, Steve, I know, but it's good that you pointed that out for those who don't.
