Can the PC get viruses from backup files after a clean install of Wind

My PC gets viruses, especially remote access backdoors, so I have to do a clean instal. My backup files include text documents, pictures, videos, .exe software app files, compress files.

Is it possible the PC gets virus again through those files? Should I skip all app files, just keep documents and pictures, and ISO files?

Do I have to format the USB drive which stores those files? In case the USB drive got viruses what can I do to save the text documents, pictures, videos avoiding the viruses to return back my PC?

Can you suggest some good USB cables which can transfer files between two PCs. It should save my time "copy and paste"

    Thanks for any help.

A clean install is a clean install. No backup files.

Also, if your backup files are infected, bringing them to a clean install will infect the computer again.
Backup files are only useful if they are definitely NOT infected.

Oh, thank you. Do you have any idea that I can save my text documents, videos, pictures?

How about the Windows USB boot? I downloaded and made a USB boot from that PC. Thanks

If the PC is infected, even the bootable install media will be infected.
You need to start 100% clean.

Use a different computer to make the bootable USB install media.

I wouldn't save anything from that computer.
If you absolutely have to save things, then you could try disinfecting the computer at Bleepingcomputer.
It will take a few days up to a wekk, and you have to do exactly what they tell you...

    I would start here...
Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Help Forum - BleepingComputer.com

You can't do anything with the computer while they help you disinfect it.

Like I said... if it were me, I'd just wipe the computer and do a clean install of Windows.
Or contact Lenovo and work with them to do a factory restore.

Thanks for showing me the forum. Unfortunately all forums which relate to removing virus are closed, no one can create a new thread, they are for reading only.
I have two PCs, and both have the same problem. Do you have another idea for my case? Thank you

    I went to Ghot's recommendation

It's the Am I infected? What do I do? forum that is closed.
    And just below it is
For the time being, this forum is closed. Please use the Malware Removal Assistance forum for help.

All forums? Seems unlikely, unless a virus is stopping you posting. Have you tried the Malwarebytes forum? Very helpful in my experience - don't need to be a Malwarebytes user to post (after you've created an account).

One thing you could try is perform a clean install again and scan it with Defender (full scan). If clear then go to settings - devices and turn off AutoPlay. Connect the USB drive, right click it in File Explorer and run a full Defender scan on it.

Just another idea, pretty sure most reputable anti-virus providers offer an online scan service which, even if it won't remove viruses, would at least tell you whether your PC and backups have any detectable viruses, you can then decide on a course of action depending on the results.

are these app's (exe's), legitimate software obtained in a legal sense? Since I gave up on any pirated software about 15 years ago, I've almost never experienced a problem.
