I'm assuming you mean the logs that are created when you make your Rescue Media. I do not have a rescepe.log. the PE environment is passe and generally replaced nowadays with the Windows 10 current RE environment.

I do have logs for that, created recently when I did the last update to MR.

I use the default WinRE.



If you look in MR, after you click Build Rescue Media, at the top are all the logs in a drop down.

I think that's an urban myth. Just because CDs/DVDs are old tech doesn't label them as unreliable. A lot depends on the brand, handling, whether they are rewritable or not, etc. Thumbs are just way more common, faster.

I've been thwarted at every turn since the forced March update. E.g., Update Troubleshooter won't start, DISM couldn't find sources, on and on and on. But none of that should apply to the R7 on the rescue CD, since Win hasn't started right?

Drivers? UEFI corrupted?

I've got to take a few hours off from this update hell.

I see that you multi-boot. What if I get a Linux in order to at least do email, pay bills, buy replacement laptop, etc. Then can I boot into Linux from a 64GB USB, if my Win10 gets even worse after I try a repair-install?
