Hi, did you actually boot to a command prompt or simply open one when logged in?

If that doesn't work for you, I suggest you try either booting from a live boot disk and deleting the file, or booting to a command prompt and attempting it from that.

Make a note of what you're trying to delete first.

I'm actually not at all surprised attempting to access that whilst logged into Windows is blocked.
Sorry, my mistake. OK, I did exactly as it was described. This time it did show "\>" after I hit enter after putting in "C:". But when I go to the next command and put in "CD System Volume Information\WindowsImageBackup" and hit enter it says "The System Cannot Find The Path Specified"

Suggest you try using a live boot disk. (E.g. Google Kyhi's, Bob Omb's).

Note you can view those folders/files readily with Treeview (as per that thread) or Wiztree (free). Rt click offers a delete option - I would expect, though, that you would have permissions issues trying to use that.

Returning to the command prompt: here's another way to try to access that folder:

I like Wiztree- it's good to set the colours appropriately to highlight e.g. Log, tmp and dmp files- anything that programs may leave that can take up a suprising amount of space.

I then use that occasionally to review what's left after running Ccleaner (files/folders and cookies only) to see if I need to add something to exceptions to be cleaned as well.
