Acer E 15 Windows cannot find a system image on this computer

My Acer E 15 getting very slow, I used a "Windows 10 Pro Full Version" CD to try to install a clean version of OS on my 1000GB HDD/SSD but didn't go well, touch pad, network adapter ... cannot be detected. I then tried to use "System Image Recovery" to see if I can restore it back to factory reset, but it also failed & said "Windows cannot find a system image on this computer", I thought Acer manufacturer should have built in a system recovery image on the recovery partition, but maybe not. My D2D is "Enabled", please advise what can I do next?

Sounds like you need drivers. Isn't there an image available for download from Acer?

If there is an acer recovery partition+image on the machine, you might need acer prorietary software to recover from it.

It's not an old PC so should be fully compatible.

Clean installing Win 10 can be done for free- any Win 10 iso file can be downloaded at any time and a bootable medium created. The easiest way is with the MS media creation tool (Google or see the clean install tutorial here).

An iso file can install Win 10 Pro or Home depending on your previous activation or valid license.

Clean installs are to unallocated space on your system drive and require the deletion of all partitions comprising your O/S (but not partitions you have created yourself). This is part of the prompted procedure.

    Clean Install Windows 10

I have build 1903 on mine. It was upgraded about 3 times, so have had Win 10 on mine for a number of years. No clean installs, no slowing.

    Slow performance can arise from
    - too little RAM
    - insufficient free disk space
    - something causing excessive resource usage (see task manager)
    - an incompatible driver
    - a hardware issue
    etc.

I thought Acer manufacturer should have built in a system recovery image on the recovery partition
Perhaps so, but that will be to an older build and with any trial software installed.
The factory reset partition would be perhaps 15-20Gb. Not to be confused with the much smaller Windows Recovery partition.

"Windows cannot find a system image on this computer"
That is for a system image that you might have created.

advanced options >reset would be to reset to factory.

If you have just installed win10 from the cd you mentioned, not sure if that reset option would now find the factory image ( assuming there is one)

yes, I clean installed on a PC before with the same "Windows 10 Pro" CD and it worked fine with all drivers needed to run the PC, for this Acer E 15, maybe it needs some of it's own drivers for network adapter, touch pad ..., clean install only installed very limited files & missing a lot of drivers. Please see my attached screenshots for more details, after bootup, my touch pad not working, I cannot move cursor, I can only Alt-F10 to open a command prompt window, it's showing I have 2 drives has windows O/S, one is X:\> , the other is C:\>, my network connection is down, I cannot browse anywhere to download more drivers.

Acer pre-created 4 partitions on this laptop
Name Total Size Free space Type
Drive 0 Partition 1: ESP 100.0MB 45.0MB System (this is for UEFI & cannot be removed)
    Drive 0 Partition 2 16.0MB 16.0MB MSR (Reserved)
Drive 0 Partition 3 930.4GB 916.9GB Primary <-- I chose this biggest partition to clean install but
    not done well
Drive 0 Partition 4: Recovery 1.0GB 577.0MB Recovery <-- since Free space is only 577MB, I thought there
was a recovery image in it, but it's not

No. As I explained to you- Windows installation creates its own partitions for normal installations.

You install to unallocated space as the tutorial I gave you states.

That's empty space on your disk. Not an existing partition.

You must delete all pre-existing partitions comprising your O/S.

That means for a typical UEFI installation as part of the prompted installation procedure you delete 4 (FOUR) partitions.

Around step 13 or 14 of the tutorial if I recall.

Your CD will most likely be old. That means you will receive a whole upgrade AFTER installing using that.

Get a current one, unless you specifically wish to stay on an older build.

Drivers: Windows delivers most drivers. Some PCs have special keys or ilumination which needs a download from the manufacturer. Manufacturers provide a page per device where you can download drivers and utilities for your particular PC.

After installation, you can get anything mssing from your manufacturer.

Include PSU. cooler, case, peripherals and anything attached to the computer by wired or wireless (mouse, keyboard, headset, printer, xbox, USB wireless network card, etc.)

As dalchina commented a clean install when properly performed installs new default partitions after all partitions are manually deleted.

    Alternatives may include:
    a) Windows refresh
    b) reset save files
    c) reset remove files
    d) custom install

If there are important files to save then options include:
    a) reset save files
    b) custom install
    c) backing up files followed by clean install

All of the above methods require the reinstallation of drivers and applications.

No. As I explained to you- Windows installation creates its own partit

Hi! DalChina, understand what you said to delete all those pre-existing partitions, but the partition 1 for UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface), I thought it's required and cannot be removed? please confirm if I can remove it, then I will delete all of them and start a clean install again. I realize my Windows 10 Pro CD maybe a bit old, that's fine after I done a good clean install with network adapter driver in place & up, I can download more recent O/S.

I deleted all those pre-existing partitions (attached pics before & after delete) and do a clean install again but still the same no luck. Should I buy a new most recent Windows 10 CD?
