    hi @meebers

Great news.Glad that you could recover the partition and access the folders/files.

From your description, it looks like your 2TB disk could have developed bad sectors.

Immediately perform a surface test with PW.

Better still as dalchina suggested in his post #2 quoted below.

.................First start by checking the disk... there may be a reason things have gone.

E.g. Hard Disk Sentinel (trial)- great program, simple report, right on its GUI.
Just want mundane SMART? Crystal Diskinfo. Free.

Once bad sectors start showing up, the disk is no longer reliable. Woud advice replacing the disk to be sure that the problems you encountered do not recur.

    Summoning Jumanji?

Hi, I just came upon this thread and am having a similiar problem with my 2 TB external hard drive, wandering if I might be able to summon Jumanji to walk me through this partition recovery process? I have downloaded the Minitool Recovery Tool referenced earlier in the thread and will attach a screenshot of primary screen before proceeding further. If it's better that I start a new thread with this issue, let me know. Just looking at my best chance for involving the "guru" ! Data lost on my backup drive -Minitool disk recovery-pr.jpg

    Hi Scout123,

    Welcome to Ten Forums.

You would be best to start your own thread and mention '@ jumanji' without the space. This will send him a notification.

You could always include a link to this thread in the new one you create, if it has similarities to your problem.

This thread is already marked as solved and won't get as much attention.
