Backup folder settings from old version of windows 10

Gonna keep trying at least, not like I changed em on purpose anyway windows did that automatically :) if you think of any other ideas let me know. Thanks

@MajorFoley Others have encountered similar issues updating to 190x. I could find no reference to any solution to avoid the issue. The only "solution" was to reset all views to Windows defaults and start over. This was necessary for many people because their folders became "General Items" and the option to set them as Documents, Music, Pictures, or Videos no longer worked. See: 1903 update - all folders set back to default and can't customize them

Something i haven't thought of, what of updating straight to 20h2 or latest updates via an iso? I mean you claimed your VMS seemed to be able to restore the folders so i dunno whats going on there.

It's still going to be a change of GUID for the Downloads folder, so my guess is the result will be the same. But, hey, you never know. Certainly worth a try.
