If you simply want to copy a partition try:
If you want to back up your O/S, then time and again disk imaging is endlessly recommended here- e.g. Macrium Reflect (free).
Far better and more efficient to use disk imaging than making odd copies by hand.

Use Macrium Reflect and make a full OS image backup.
Macrium Software | Macrium Reflect Free
In the top picture, you will have 3 or 4 partitions check marked, unlike my setup.
And for destination you will have the drive letter of your backup drive.

a. Copy the partition - the literal question asked.
b. Disk imaging with Macrium
I didn't bother to explain further as (b) is guessing the question.
