    Macrium Reflect 8 Update Discussion

Looks like we need a new thread, since Macrium Reflect 8 will soon be released.

Since I like to be up-to-date, I'll be updating.

I know, Keith, but we were told to stop spamming the Macrium Update thread. So . . .

    What we know so far

Macrium Reflect is now 20% off for the holiday period, and if you buy now it includes a free upgrade to Reflect 8 when it is released.

Team Macrium has been hard at work throughout 2020 to get Reflect 8 polished and ready to go. We just need to put the finishing touches on, but we’re happy to announce that if you purchase Reflect 7 now, you’ll receive a free upgrade to Reflect 8 upon release.

And we know how irritating it is to buy something and find it on sale right after, so if the upgrade wasn’t good enough, we’re currently offering Reflect 7 for 20% off!

Little is known about what may be new in Reflect 8, but there is information about viBoot 8 Beta, which will add a Dark Theme and Virtualbox support.

Macrium viBoot v8 introduces the new Dark Theme UI elements and background. This provides an enhanced user experience with higher contrast text and a more modern look and feel.

We’ve also added direct support for Oracle VirtualBox by implementing .mrimg to .vmdk file virtualization....

If anyone is interested, there is a Macrium Forum Open Thread on V8. Started 8/23/2019 and last post was on 8/18/2020. There are many high ranking MR members who have posted there. Not surprisingly, no posts from anyone who is MR "Official". Not even on condition of anonymity.

A year's worth of speculation, some interesting comments, a few what-if predictions, and nobody knows any more than they did before.

Macrium does not publish time tables for releases.

TC, can those who use the free Macrium read the forums? I'm a little confused on that issue.

Yeah, I have the paid version, but most of my students only have the free version; don't want to send them there if they can't read.
