That's exactly how it's supposed to work. Would you take a look at How can I monitor a running Macrium Reflect backup? and see whether you can help the OP out?
I'm running my weekly scheduled backup now and CTRL+ALT+M works for me.

Maybe you could advise the member in that thread I just cited. So far, he's gotten no help.

I think the problem he has is directly related to the method he's using for his scheduled backups, whatever that may be. If he's scheduling from within the MR8 program, I can't see the program failing to give him multiple methods for monitoring his running backups.

Ok. here it is. When notification about automatic backup is about to start, I clicked on it. It minimized to taskbar and when I clicked on it, it opened this:

Because of type of backup (incremental) going from one NVMe SSD to another one, it happened too fast to catch while working.
    Edit, caught it doing differential

I just updated my Trial 8 version and my Free 8 version.
I rebuilt my rescue disc on both.

If you installed the 30-day trial, then at the end of the trial it will prompt you to purchase. If you decline then it will continue to work as the Free version.

When the trial ends it reverts to the free version 8. If you download the free version today it will be version 7 as the free V8 has not been officially released yet. The free version has most features that a home user would need. Downloads for all versions are here Macrium Software | Reflect Free Edition. You need to scroll down the page to see the free home version.
