I don't see anything that can be run of Rescue USB (from active windows) unless you boot from it.
Oh then I guess the only new thing is opening backups in that environment I think.

I believe they mean you can stick the USB into a loaded windows OS and run the app off the USB that way and not have to boot off it as the only option now. EDIT : also if the client has bitlocker sometimes backing up from just PE can cause funny issues on restore.
No standalone app to run from the thumb drive. All is contained in the Sources>boot.wim

I believe you could always do backups from the Rescue, some members only do it that way. Mine, I cannot change the resolution. 1980x1080 That's it. Same on V7. Can't resize Window, either. These may be hardware restricted or I need to include a driver or something in the Rescue thumb. Anybody know?
If I remember correctly you can only do full images from the rescue environment.

I think @OldMike65 had issues with font size in the rescue environment in V7. Maybe he knows.

True on the FULL only. No VSS services running to Diff or Incr.

Ah! OK. I really appreciate y'all helping me out. Although I can cripple along and get backups made, I know very little about Macrium. Gotta make some time to understand it fully so I can teach my students more than the basics.

I actually did remove my key to get my screenshots. Went as far as removing the key and reverting to v8 Free. Didn't patch it, as I and others have seen what happens before. It was as easy to add my v8 key back afterwards. The advantage of just removing the key but leaving Reflect installed is that all your settings, backup definitions and schedules are preserved.

I've put my key back and am back using Home again now

Some screen shots from Rescue USB. It makes only .BMP files and doesn't want to save them to that USB but can on any other disk. Didn't even know it ha a screenshot option.
