Just took a better look at Rescue USB, some nice options I don't believe existed earlier. You can for instance change resolution on the fly. Open and read all backups and also make backups right from it. Don't even need MR to be installed. There's no dark mode (pity) but changing resolution to lower res, font gets larger and so easier to reed.Window is also scalable and can be moved.

That is pretty neat the fact you can backup with just it and open backups. Good thing to look forward to. I need to just install 8 on a separate pc and do my own extensive testing for my own work flow. Just don't have the time right now. Thanks for the updates.

I believe you could always do backups from the Rescue, some members only do it that way. Mine, I cannot change the resolution. 1980x1080 That's it. Same on V7. Can't resize Window, either. These may be hardware restricted or I need to include a driver or something in the Rescue thumb. Anybody know?

This may be what you are looking for. Under Help tab at top. Watch the Uninstall option. Uncheck.

. . . I will need to remove it, but I think I read somewhere that I need to un-register it so I can use it on another computer?

How do I un-register? Are there instructions somewhere?
You need to be online to be able to un-register, so that Macrium's registration servers can be contacted. uninstalling should do it, bur you can also just remove the key. When you do so you have the choice of uninstalling Reflect (ticked by default).

If you un-tick the box to unistall Reflect your Reflect remains installed but reverts to the Free version after the key is removed. As Reflect v8 Free has not been released yet, then a check for updates will say an update is available (with a blank 'release note') but if you install the 'update' it will actually patch Reflect back down to v7 Free.

I believe they mean you can stick the USB into a loaded windows OS and run the app off the USB that way and not have to boot off it as the only option now. EDIT : also if the client has bitlocker sometimes backing up from just PE can cause funny issues on restore.

Thanks for that. That sounds like the path to revert to V7 without any damage.

    Thanks, Count.

One more question regarding an existing paid installation . . . I will need to remove it, but I think I read somewhere that I need to un-register it so I can use it on another computer?

I also have to do the same for one gifted to me so the original "owner" can reuse that one.

How do I un-register? Are there instructions somewhere?
There you go, this is V8 but v7 is the same...

I don't see anything that can be run of Rescue USB (from active windows) unless you boot from it.
