That was indirectly my fault. I asked a member who seemed to be having trouble with quoting if he had tried something. I even conditioned it by saying up front it was OT, so it would stay short and not derail and go haywire. It didn't take long for it to do just that and make the thread unrecognizable. My apologies to all.

Just a small bug. I have an SDXC card formatted to NTFS permanently connected to laptop. Macrium 'sees' it but doesn't report usage on main page. Yet if I search for a folder it shows it correctly.

Does anyone have issues with understanding the UI as in the icons? I miss the colorful ones and especially that Blue HDD for the file types themselves. Also the new Restore Tab seems not as good in comparison and I raised a ticket not being able to move the columns or hide some. As well as the really tiny font and it just seems like the font ignores truetype altogether?.

Does boot media made with 8 have the new UI in the PE environment?

Oh also I can't install 7 to roll back to as it seems all my 7 keys are now not valid (also put that in my ticket)?

It would be difficult to do Dark Mode, and lots of other Full UI cosmetics and tweaks. The drivers and sysfiles are not in the PE/RE to accomplish that. You can add drivers to the PE/RE, but only "device" type drivers to accommodate your hardware requirements.

I doubt it. I suspect that either the PE environment doesn't support it, or it's been deliberately left out to avoid potential display problems on some hardware.

Dark Mode was there in the initial release of the v8.0.5521 Beta back in January. If there were any plans to use it in the recovery media as well then it would have been tried during the Beta testing - but it wasn't.

So, no dark mode or other Full frills for PE/RE. It is a Rescue Environment, not your primary residence. I'll settle for a freakin' font I can see!

Which has been promised to be worked on.

Maybe it will make it to PE/RE, also. Maybe not.

    All in the future.
