I just bought the single license version. Currently I have v7.3 (free) installed.
Do I just install this over top or just put the serial into what I already have installed?
When I bought 7.2 Home about 18 months ago, just changing the installed key was sufficient to switch from Free to Home.

    That's what I did.
Do I need to remake the bootable CD?

The only reason I bought it, was for the Image Guardian.

I guess the only other question, is do I need to make a new Macrium bootable CD?
You still use CDs? Mine is a USB (and added to the Boot menu).

Yes, make new rescue media. Your current Reflect Free rescue media has the Premium features disabled, such as rapid delta restore. You'll need to make new Home rescue media to be able to use them.

OK. I don't need that stuff, but I see your point.
I'll make a fresh backup too, ofc. Wouldn't want to restore from a current backup, and go back to... free.

If I had more on my OS drive, I'd consider those things. It only takes me 2 mins to make a backup and 1.7 minutes to restore.

You could of course use your newly acquired Premium features and make an Incremental image to add to your existing Full image

Naw. I just make full OS images.
I like to keep things simple.

I don't even do restores from within Windows. I always use the bootable media for that.

Now I need to hit the manual, and see if I have to DO anything for image guardian, or if it just "does it's own thing" automatically.

Image Guard does it own thing once activated. Find your Image you just created with Image Guard on and try to delete with Windows File Explorer. It won't let you. If it does cancel the delete and check settings.

Yes you should create new boot media if you want all functions like Re-Deploy.

and Image guard only works locally, internal disk or external disk attached to PC.

It will not protect images on a NAS.

Yeah, Image Guardian is on by default.

NAS? NAS? I don't need no steenking NAS.

Already created and tested new boot media, and made a fresh backup.

I dunno though... $55 for a little AOL running guy icon on all my partitions, and for Image Guardian. LOL

Seriously though... this does a lot of nice things. Things I will probably never use, but tools etc., that almost everyone else... will use.

I only have 34.0GB on my C:\ drive, so my backups and restores are really quick and painless.
    For example...

I mean, I make new full OS image backups for just about anything.
Bad news in the middle East... backup.
    Rainy day... backup.
    New FF version, backup.
Windows Update... backup, before and after.

One I can't live without is emails. Backups run in the middle of the night, and some machines I don't have access to.

V8 will have some other goodies for those that pay.
